I think that you will enjoy to reinstall Windows XP, on your computer. Go into the BIOS settings of your computer. In the Boot Menu, make the compact disc ROM the first Boot Device. Save and exit.
Now, just insert the Windows XP compact disc into the CD ROM Drive and reboot. When the computer starts up it will automatically start installing Windows XP as a up to date install.
Yes, you can buy another Windows XP Home CD( they are cheap now) and use it as it will come along with the Software Keys needed to install it on your computer.

If you own the original cd's the OS come on, just pop it surrounded by the puter and restart the puter. When it gives you the remedy, boot from the disk or re-install from the disk.

I go to turn on my desktop computer yesterday and it will not come on at all. I've tried plugging it into different receptacle, and everything. What could it be?

Sounds like a unmoving power pack. If the led comes on, on the MB and go off. later definately the power supply..

please facilitate me. my desk top computer is a custom built P3 with a intel desktop board 256 mb video and 26 bump, this morning it said that a file be missing in system 32 so i put the xp cd surrounded by and fixed it and i left the computer on and come back next and it said it again now the monator will not show anything and if i move off it on for a while it makes three short beep. what could be rong? its not the power suply, i have lately replaced that not long ago.please help me asap thank you

I be installing a new complicated drive and I accidentally installed windows xp twice, is within any way to achieve one of them off in need losing all of my files on the one I use the most?

(Press F2 or doesn`t matter what command you need upon boot process)
Put your CMOS to boot from CD-Rom
Put contained by the install cd and restart your computer
Follow instructions until it asks you to delete a partition
Delete one
copy your files from the other drive and verbs it to the master drive, with the window. then format the other xp drive.
If adjectives your files are on one hard drive and here is ONLY Windows XP on the one you want to remove Windows from, then you can format that intricate drive.
Bear in mind that formatting will remove everything from the drive that you format. But if adjectives your files are on the other drive then this should be fine.

All the items are automatically checked except for the bureau setup files which holds 220,400k. Is it ok to check this box as well and after perform the disk verbs up or will it erase or mess up something?
Also how often should you execute disk clean up?

It will be a strain and a bigger loss as the spare from your Compaq will be thrown away. It would be cheaper to sell your current laptopa and buy a newer one.. not the most modern, but at least a contrivance with complex CPU speed

try cleaning the memory module by using eraser or the softest abbrasive weekly gently and later try putting it again... hope it will succeed
