I think that you will enjoy to reinstall Windows XP, on your computer. Go into the BIOS settings of your computer. In the Boot Menu, make the compact disc ROM the first Boot Device. Save and exit.
Now, just insert the Windows XP compact disc into the CD ROM Drive and reboot. When the computer starts up it will automatically start installing Windows XP as a up to date install.
Yes, you can buy another Windows XP Home CD( they are cheap now) and use it as it will come along with the Software Keys needed to install it on your computer.

I try to reinstall window xp but it took me 10 hours for it to copy the files.
now the computer is up and running and there's a big problm

Put a selective startup so that ur startup(boot proscess) be briskly

My disc drive will not eject once I log into Windows XP. Up until login, I can eject the drive. I can also eject the drive at any time while running in Safe Mode. All of my startup programs are legit, so I don't construe that's the problem. Any ideas?

If my compact disc Rom drive is disconnected, my computers boots up fine into Windows XP, but when I try to connect the CD Rom drive, it say primary master - none primary slave - none etc .. and then I acquire the message disk boot failure .. insert system disk and press enter

Microsoft updates pocket up quite a bit of memory. Is it possible to delete previously updates and maintain just the most current?

I would generally not recommend it, simply because most microsoft updates build upon other microsoft updates (they won't work unless the previous updates are already installed).
More regularly than not the newer MS updates are designed so that they do not take much memory. Once latest updates are installed old updates no longer use memory.

I enjoy a Compaq Presario SR2173WM Desktop PC and I'm wanting to upgrade my CPU. I'm trying to do a BSA Extract for modding Oblivion, but whenever I try to spread out the file it newly blinks on for a second and then closes. I am not impressively good beside Commmand line programs so I requirement help!

More than imagined, your BSA Extract program is choking on something in the database you're trying to extract from and crashing. If it's a command line program, see what option are available by typing something like program_name relief, program_name /?, etc.
If possible, try using the program to extract from a simpler file to see if the program in reality works or not.

Replace your cd rom beside the new drive if you own one (cdrom). There are PCI IDE cards to get two more IDE channel also.
Well If you dont have any extra IDE ports on your motherboard where on earth you plug in things close to the drives or hard drives, next your only other risk is to go and purchase an external cd burner. they are relatively cheap and they plug into usb ports.
You don't inevitability a special IDE for these drives. You can get a IDE cable from the local Radio Shack or other computer/electronics store for a few dollars. Then set the jersey on the single optical drive (CD burner) to the Master position. The opposite running out plugs into the mobo into the port labeled Secondary IDE . If you get a DVD burner, afterwards take this compact disc burner out, and set the jumper to the Slave position, and produce the DVD burner the Master drive. There are three plugs on the IDE cable, one goes to the mobo, the other two hook up to the optical drives.

For example, we get an old administration Dell through a children's charity - paid 230 for the cpu, sony monitor, speakers, and cd burner. Pretty much I am sure you can put faster memory into a slower slot and be fine; but what happen when slower memory is put into a faster slot, will the speed automatically decrease, and adjectives will work fine, or will the memory get fried?

Yes, you can, but it will run @ 667. But you can overclock it (via BIOS settings) but within this case you obligation to put some cooling on your RAM, otherwise it turns to a Kentucky Fried Chicken

I enjoy 3.0 GHz 800 Mhz dual processor, 512 MB RAM, ATI X1050 256 MB video card, 360 GB hard disk. Can I run this hobby in my notebook?

I think you should be fine, I run mine on a 3400+ single CPU box near 512MB RAM myself. I did have to turn down the graphics to preserve it running at an OK pace, and I have to update my NVidia graphics cards drivers, but it plays fine 99% of the time now.
The spectator sport will run, but only 512MB may breed it a bit slow though.

Yes. You can overclock it but be careful as it seem to be one of the older models. Also its an intel so it will be more invasive than the AMD ones. Make sure when you are overclocking it that you do it little bit at a time that route you will know up to when it will be allright.
