THERE ARE 4BASIC BOOTING METHODS IN A COMPUTER.

PRIMARY MASTER

PRIMARY SLAVE

SECONDARY MASTER

SECONDARY SLAVE

SO PLEASE CHECK WHAT IS THE CONFIGURATION YOUR HARD DISK HAS. (from the above 4)

YOU CAN CHECK THIS BY ENTERING THE BIOS PROGRAM OR IN THE BLACK SCREEN APPEARS WHEN THE COMPUTER STARTS.

NOW, IN THE TOP SURFACE OF YOUR CD-ROM, THERE WILL BE A STICKER SHOWING THE JUMPER POSITION FOR THE ABOVE 4 CONFIGURATIONS. CHANGE THE JUMPER SETTINGS AND THEN CONNECT WITH THE COMPUTER.

JUMPER:

U WILL FIND A SERIES OF PINS IN BETWEEN THE IDE CABLE AND POWER SUPPLY. AND THERE WILL BE A CLIP WHICH CONNECTS 2 OF THESE PINS. THIS IS CALLED THE JUMPER.

EXAMPLE:

say your knotty disk is secondary master. after, according to your CD-ROM sticker remove the small clip (jumper) which is in between the IDE cable and Power supply and next fix it in to the primary master configuration.

GOOD LUCK

:-)
you necessitate to see if your cd-rom and HDD have correct touch (on the posterior of each is small pin ) or check your bios(while restarting press F2 or F12 to enter bios setup) and check boot. which one is first and which is second to boot from.
