reinstall the operating system
it's most likely corrupted
IF you are identifiable with DOS you can boot to DOS using your backup floppy and replace the record from you 98 install disk. More than likely the system have become corrupted and you will need to reinstall a couple of files. If you enjoy no data you want to amass then I would suggest a OS reinstall. Although, its a stomach-ache in the tail reinstalling WIn 98se. Maybe this would be a well brought-up time to look into XP Home upgrade. Good Luck
