Computer cpu other at 100%?

1 month ago, I accidentally done the whole system procces tree.

I try to reinstall window xp but it took me 10 hours for it to copy the files.

now the computer is up and running and there's a big problm

the cpu is other at 100%

I have a

Del Dimension 4600 running window xp home sp2 oem

2.79 ghz P4

1.25 gb of ram

80gb tough drive

96mb of Vram

cd-rw drive

you should do a clean install, but don't install xp within windows. If you enjoy a start up installation disk you can install it when you start the computer.
Sounds like something is starting up maybe svchost.exe?



Boot into safe mode and see if computer still opearates at 100%....except, check the startup programs.
right click on task slab and go to errand manager click on the processes tab and see which program is using adjectives the cpu time,when it happened to me it be indexing on the c: drive
press ctrl+alt+delete and click Task manager

exterminate the application using more space



click on run and go to msconfig

Put a selective startup so that ur startup(boot proscess) be briskly
