No. AMD processors can merely be installed in AMD-based motherboards. Same go for Intel.

Absolutely NOT. AMD and Intel are opposites of respectively other. They are rival companies. intel is for pentinums and Amds is for AMD. If you want an athlon, you'll have to buy another motherboard. run to http://www.tigerdirect.com
