I'm running an AMD Athlon X2 4200+ processor next to the standard AMD heatsink and fan it come with. It's a socket 939 text of the processor.
Last week, when I demanded a little more out of it than regular (although I certainly wasn't pushing it) the heat went up to in the region of 51C (it normally runs at give or take a few 35C).
It got me thinking that conceivably I need a better heatsink and follower than the one that comes supplied.
Can anyone recommend a good one that'll hold on to the processor nice and cool. I don't want to spend a fortune but also don't want my processor to fry in the middle of playing a team game or something.
Alternatively, can anyone suggest alternative solutions for keeping everything cool (such as an extra fan surrounded by the computer case to suck out adjectives the hot air that the processor hanger-on is blowing out).
Best heatsink and admirer for an AMD X2 processor?
I would go to any a thermaltake or a mass cool these are very hi output fan @ link below at hand are 35+ models to fit the 939 model cheers
ps I went near the Thermaltake / Big Typhoon VX / 4 in 1 / 6 Heatpipes / 120mm Fan / CPU Cooler and dropped my temps by 31% which is outstanding! thy also enjoy cooler kits for cases that come surrounded by 6 packs etc...
I would read out, just shift to Best Buy and tell a Geek Squad Agent your problem.
51c is not that much of problem anyway.
