AMD or INTEL for stout Internet users?

I enjoy about lb100 to spend on a investigational Mobo and processor (I have 512Mb of DDR already) and cant establish on what processor to buy. My main use is Messanger and Chat near some Office work. Any suggestions???

AMD or INTEL for stout Internet users?

Your tasks are not too cpu intensive and you do not need a dual core however. Get this great new Celeron (Conroe L). Runs cool but in haste at 35 watts only.

It costs smaller quantity than $60 and is now on Retail here within Asia. You could move up to dual core later when the involve arises.

Consider the Asus P5B MX motherboard.

It would cost you around lb55.00. It has built contained by Wi-Fi and comes w/ the wifi antenna.
aim for a athlon xp 2400+ or 2.0 ghz pentium 4. run at about matching speed and would be fine for internet use

boards that accept ddr and these processors simply cost around lb30-40
id stir with Intel(R) CoreTM2 Duo processors but i hear AMD's Athlon 64 X2 3800+ processor is tangible good

here some reality on the AMD

Athlon 64 X2 3800+, a dual-core processor running at 2GHz with 512K of L2 cache per core. AMD have priced this baby at $354

u could grasp the X2 3800+ its up to u hope this helps u out and the Intel Pentium D is obedient
For what you want to do either would be fine. You are not using any specially demanding software... so even the cut down chips (celeron / turion) would cope OK... but woudl struggle sooner if you be using newer more demanding software.
buy an intel processor for the money u can get an intel celeron processor which is fitting enough for internet usage.
I would other go for intel, without a doubt about it!
